Ah,  the great race is on!  Who can destroy the most Christmas decorations in the shortest amount of time!

He was the first to knock an ornament off the tree! He is also way ahead of the pack when it comes to the amount of ornaments tossed, ( I lost track of the number).

G.S. was the second place winner, after a lengthy interval. I think he sometimes just waits to see how much trouble Bendetta will get into!

Squirrel likes to think she is too mature to bother with these silly kids.  She was spotted climbing the tree for a brief time. I’m sure it was just a safety check for the kid’s benefit.cats 002





Splotchy doesn’t seem to care at all about this new development.  I’m sure there will soon be new developments when they all decide to have one of their free for alls.

Seems the fun activity is for all four of them to chase each other around the house. Luckily it doesn’t happen very often!

My name is Kevin. My wife Julie and I are the Guardians that, until today, have chosen to remain in the background of The Cult of Otis. I can’t do that today though. Not after what has happened. I cannot write a story through this pain.

Yesterday morning, Julie was sitting on the couch and Mama Cat was resting next to her. Suddenly, Mama Cat began to show signs of discomfort and distress. We rushed her to our veterinarian and then received a steady stream of bad news all day as the results of blood work, x-rays and other diagnostics came in.  Mama Cat was dying.

A day that started like any other ended with us having to say our final goodbyes to Mama Cat, and that day came before our tears for Otis have even had a chance to stop, let alone dry. We are both…
