Happy Hug Day!

What a great health alert for all my friends!!

Hey Everybody!

So it’s Hug Day today! 🙂 I luvz me some hugging!

Hugging is definitely a powerful way of healing. Research shows that hugging (and also laughter) is extremely effective at healing sickness, disease, loneliness, depression, anxiety and stress.

Research shows that a proper deep hug, where the hearts are pressing together, can benefit you in these ways:
1. The nurturing touch of a hug builds trust and a sense of safety. This helps with open and honest communication.
2. Hugs can instantly boost oxytocin levels, which help to heal feelings of loneliness, isolation, and anger.
3. Holding a hug for an extended time lifts one’s serotonin levels, elevating mood and creating happiness.
4. Hugs strengthen the immune system.
5. Hugging boosts self-esteem. It shows us that we’re loved and special.
6. Hugging relaxes muscles. Hugs release tension in the body. Hugs can take away pain.

101_1190I don’t know about any one else, but I never go to the bathroom alone!

I’m surprised Splotchy hasn’t invited herself yet. Of course, she’s alittle scared of these crazy cats!

It reminds me of toddlers who always follow mom everywhere.
I don’t care. I love having them with me, even in inappropriate places!

If they let me out,
I hope to see ya soon!

So Thankful!

I spent last night away from home .

No wild and crazy parties for me. Stayed the night with my baby sister who had major surgery on Monday morning.  Surgery at 5:45 in the morning to be exact.  Who in the world schedules surgery at that crazy hour of the morning?

But thank God, it went better than expected. Instead of going to ICU she went straight to a regular room.

Times like this make you cherish your loved ones. So before I head back to the hospital for moral support, I thought I’d share some of her favorite pictures.

True Friends

This is the time of year when we are all still filled with love. Christmas brings out the best in everyone.
I just wanted to share the story of friends working together!

Splotchy has decided to help G.S. find the catnip!

The stuffing seems to be getting in the way.

Who says Pits are scary? These guys have always seemed to get along better than anybody I know.

Once all the stuffing was out all over the floor, G.S. and Bendetta just rolled around on it. Never saw such happy cats!

It was pretty exciting for Bendetta. You can see his usual playroom is the inside of the water bottle package.

Ah, the joy of friendship!

Hope to see ya soon.

Back to school in 2014

Today was the first day of school for the kids. Seems like that Christmas vacation was so long.  It’s always a mixed back of emotions when they go back.
Part of me wants to jump for joy! Another part misses having them around. Since I work second shift, I only seem to see them when they have days off.

Now someone was quite thrilled to take the kids back to school! Splotchy was wide-eyed and ready to take her spot in the car. She was busy watching everything!

Now that the holidays are over, The cats will be unhappy that they lost their favorite climbing tree.

There’s an old tradition called ” Find the Pickle” where we would search for the pickle ornament. We played “Find Bendetta.”

Squirrel just never knows what to make of her adopted boys!

Hope to see you real soon!
